Amir Abdul Reda is an Assistant Professor at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

His research interests lie at the border of comparative politics and quantitative methods, and make use of the vast amount of data available today to study protests and migration. Currently, he is working on several projects related to protest cycles, subsidy reforms and protests, and migration. Some of his current research projects are funded by UK Research and Innovation and Horizon Europe.

At UM6P, his teaching focuses on data science methods for political science (NLP), advanced statistical methods, and public opinion and voting.

Amir’s work has appeared or is forthcoming in Sociological Methods & Research, Political Studies Review, Comparative Sociology and Middle East Studies.

He received his PhD in computational political science from the University of Toronto and his B.Sc. in political science from Université de Montréal.
